Please be advised that we are currently experiencing severe delays at
Southampton port - most steamship lines are quoting us 7-10 days (as apposed to 2-3)
for all delivery / haulage booking's and in turn this is placing enormous pressure
on all sub-contractor's to accommodate and service any booking requests.
These delivery delay's are causing a congestion on the quay and irrespectively
rent is still being imposed by the port authorities and steamship lines !
Any additional rent/demurrage costs resulting from these delays must be noted
as beyond our control and regretfully we will be forced to pass on these extra
costs if indeed incurred.
We trust you appreciate our position in this regards and would recommend
that for the time being you try avoid this port if at all possible or alternatively at
least pre-warn your client's of this potential problem until these delays
are resolved.
